How to Draw A Geese
Step 1
In this first step of our tutorial on how to draw a goose, we’ll start with the head and back of the goose. First, you can use rounded lines to create the goose’s beak.
This will be split into two pieces, with the top larger than the bottom.
Then you can add another round line to the beak for the top of the goose’s head. This line will continue to form the long neck and the beginning of the back of the goose.
Once you’ve replicated the lines as they appear in our reference image, you can move on to step 2!
Step 2
With the head complete, you can now begin to finish the gooseneck. You can draw another curved line from the beak to the bottom of the neck.
This line will parallel the other line for the neck you drew.
So the lower neckline rounds off to a fat belly for the goose. This will do it for this step, and you can move on to the next step.
Step 3
In this third step of our how to draw a goose, you’ll add some facial details to the goose while also drawing a little more of the body.
First, draw the line for the belly down and in for the bottom of the goose. Therefore, this line will go steeply down along the outline of the goose legs.
Once you’ve drawn those legs, you can finish the tail and the line going down the tail.
Finally, for this step, we will finish the face. Just draw a small black circle with a line underneath for the eye.
Next, draw another curved line at the bottom of the face where the neck for the goose cheek starts. You can refine the beak by adding another point for the goose’s nostril.
Step 4
Your goose drawing looks great! In this fourth phase, we will define some details for the goose. Finish off the legs first by adding the rest of the outlines.
You can then complete the outline where a gap was left near the legs and draw the top of the wing, which will approach the top of the goose’s body.
Now that these lines are all drawn, the next step is to add a few details before we start coloring your awesome goose drawing!
Step 5
In this fifth part of our guide on drawing a goose, we will focus on finishing the details before we start coloring the picture.
The main feature of this step will be the completion of the wing that you started earlier. To draw this one, we will use many hard lines connected to create the feathers on the wing.
Then only a few small details need to be added, but you’re almost done! Before moving to the last step, you can add personal information.
These can be minor, like adding more feathers, or more drastic, like drawing a second goose to date.
Step 6
You’ve finished your goose drawing, and now you can relax with some great colors to finish it off.
In our reference image, we used light gray tones for the goose’s feathers, with orange tones for the legs and beak. These are the ones we picked, but feel free to use as many colors as you like to finish it off!
Once you know what colors you want for it, you must choose what artistic means you’ll use to bring the colors to life.
You can use watercolors or colored pencils to give the picture a soft and beautiful look. For added vibrancy, you could use acrylic paints or colored pencils.
