The studies included a total of 60 adults who were experiencing varying levels of fatigue due to their head and neck cancer treatments. Participants were ask to rate their level of fatigue on an 11-point scale anchor at “0” = no fatigue to “as bad as you can imagine.” Participants were given guarana or placebo for six weeks and then underwent cognitive tests to assess the effects of guarana on their fatigue.
