How To Draw A Graduation Cap. Graduation is one of the most important days in a person’s life. It represents the culmination of years of hard work and study and symbolizes academic achievement. One of the most recognizable aspects of this occasion is the flat cap that graduates can wear. Learning how to draw a graduation cap can be a great way to capture the excitement of the occasion.
This guide is for you if you want to learn how to do just that! This step-by-step guide on how to draw a graduation cap will teach you how to draw this badge! You can draw many more characters like batman drawing, Anubis drawing, cat drawing, cobra drawing, blueberry drawing, coconut drawing and many more drawing for kids.
Step 1:
In this first step of our guide to drawing a graduation hat, it will be much easier if you have a ruler. Once your ruler is ready, you can draw a square with one side. It will be tilted to the side to show that it leans a little. Then draw a line near the perimeter on the bottom two lines, leaving a small gap in the right corner. Next, draw a circular shape in the center of the square for the button above.
Step 2:
You have a flat top of the hat, so now you can draw the bottom, which will be the part that will go over your head. Use straight lines down from the base of the flat top for the side of this piece, then use a curved line underneath that connects the two vertical lines. That’s all you need to do for this step, and once you’ve added that portion, you’re ready to move on to step 3!
Step 3:
Graduation hats will usually have a tassel hanging from the top. In step 3 of this guide on how to draw a graduation hat, we’ll start with this look. At first, we will pass the thread to the pompom, which will be attached. To draw this rope, draw a curved line from the button at the top of the hat that extends to the side so that it hangs over the brim. Then draw another line very close to this one to complete the rope. Once this string is complete, we will draw a circle at the end, where the tassel will be attached later.
Step 4:
Now that you have the string for your pom, we can start drawing the pom for this step of drawing your graduation hat. The pomp will be attached to the circle you drew at the end of the string hanging down the side. To start, draw three skinny shapes on this circle for the start of the tassel.
Next, we can draw the flowing part of the pom pom. You can draw this with two curved lines connecting to a jagged flat line at the end. Be sure to look closely at the reference image as you draw so you can see what we mean! Once this pom is done, we have some details to add to the next step, and you’ll be ready to finish it!
Step 5:
In our guide on drawing a graduation cap, this step will be to add the final details to prepare you for the final step. Once we’ve added those details, we’ll go over a few touches you can add. First, let’s start by finishing the pompom. We’ll add some line detail to the pom pom to make it look like it’s made up of many individual threads, just like a real one would.
That will end our details, but you should add whatever you want! These could include the drawing of someone in a graduation hat. It could even be a self-portrait! Sometimes people draw pictures or messages on the hat, so you can do that to personalize the hat. These are just a few ideas you could try, but what else can you think of to finish this graduation hat design?
Step 6:
Now that you’ve finished drawing your graduation cap, this is the part where you can fill it with some amazing colors! We kept the colors more subdued, with a darker gray for the hat and a darker yellow for the pom pom. These are suggestions, but you can use any color you like for this image. If you drew additional details, like someone wearing a hat or a decoration, you could also incorporate more color into those aspects. We can’t wait to see what amazing colors and art mediums you choose to complete this drawing!
